NDC Regional Youth Organizer aspirant, Samson Samari, says his experience working alongside the party’s current regional youth leadership during the 2020 and 2024 general elections has prepared him to take over the position.
Mr Samari says his work with his boss, Abraham Lambon, and constituency youth organisers across the region has given him practical experience in coordinating and mobilising young people for the party.
He says the experience, coupled with repeated calls from party supporters to contest, influenced his decision to seek the regional youth organiser position.
“We’ve really worked with the constituency youth organisers. There have been numerous calls for me to take over and continue what I and my boss, Abraham Lambon, and other executives started.”
Mr Samari says he intends to build on that experience by strengthening youth participation and creating more opportunities for young people to actively engage in the affairs of the NDC.
He also believes the current regional youth leadership should be given the opportunity to pursue higher responsibilities at the national level, while he takes over the regional role.
According to him, such a transition would demonstrate confidence in the ability of young people to assume greater leadership responsibilities within the party.
Mr Samari says his agenda will also focus on supporting the implementation of youth-centred policies and programmes of the NDC government, particularly those aimed at tackling youth unemployment and equipping young people with skills and opportunities for jobs.
He says his ambition is therefore not merely about occupying a party position but building a stronger youth base capable of supporting the NDC while ensuring that young people benefit from policies designed to improve their livelihoods.
