The Ghana Water Resources Commission (WRC) has issued a public notice on the planned controlled water spillage from the Bagré Dam in Burkina-Faso.

The Commission wishes to inform all stakeholders and the general public of updates on the reservoir’s water levels, as provided by SONABEL, the operator of the Bagré Dam.

According to the update, the reservoir water level of the Bagré Dam as of Tuesday, August 4, 2026 has risen to 232.93 metres.

The filling rate is currently estimated at 62.77%. As a result, SONABEL plans to commence controlled spillage from Tuesday, August 11, 2026, provided the reservoir water level reaches 234.00 metres.
