The NDC Communications Officer for the Binduri Constituency, Jambeidu Mbawine Sadat, has identified poor road infrastructure as one of the biggest development challenges confronting residents in the constituency.
According to him, several roads linking communities remain in deplorable condition, with some bridges also in need of urgent attention.
He said the situation has at times forced residents, particularly the youth, to organise communal labour to make some roads passable.
Mr Sadat, however, says work has begun on some road stretches following the return of a contractor whose project was stalled after the previous government left office.
He mentioned the road from the Binduri District Assembly area towards Abu Ndawo and the Atoba area as one of the stretches currently receiving attention.
“Roads are not really good and they are not really in better shape as far as the Binduri Constituency is concerned. But now a lot of attention is being given to Binduri, and I believe we will get there very soon,” he said.
Beyond roads, Mr Sadat identified youth unemployment as another major concern, despite what he described as recent employment opportunities secured for some residents.
He estimates that about 40 percent of the youth have benefited from opportunities through government agencies, security services, teaching and other interventions.
He stressed, however, that the figure remains inadequate, with many qualified young people still without jobs.
Mr Sadat said sustained investment in roads and employment would be critical to unlocking Binduri’s development potential.
