The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region has climaxed a series of thanksgiving and prayer services with a gathering at the Church of Pentecost in Bolgatanga, as the party seeks to strengthen unity among its members ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The Regional Youth Organiser, Salahudeen Musah, said the event was open to all NPP members to come together, pray and renew their commitment to the party.
He said the initiative was also aimed at bringing the party’s various structures together and fostering unity as the NPP begins preparations for the next general election.
According to him, the thanksgiving began with a prayer and worship session at the party’s headquarters, followed by Islamic prayers on Friday, before the Christian thanksgiving service at the Church of Pentecost.
The event brought together regional executives, constituency youth organisers and youth groups from across the region.
Mr Musah said the decision to seek God’s guidance was reached by consensus among the executives, as the party prepares to rebuild and strengthen its structures.
He said the NPP believes that with God’s guidance and a united party, it can overcome its challenges and return to power in 2028.
“We believe that when God is leading your steps, He will indeed take you to the promised land. That is why we are here to worship God,” he said.
Mr Musah expressed confidence that the NPP would defeat the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 elections.
The thanksgiving service forms part of efforts to promote unity, strengthen party structures and prepare members for the NPP’s political activities ahead of the 2028 elections.
